Anchorage's exposed illegal immigrant cop will pay back dividends

According to The Associated Press (via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer) former Anchorage Police Department officer Rafael Mora-Lopez, an illegal immigrant who had been living under someone else's identity for decades, has agreed to plead guilty to a state charge of unsworn falsification and to make restitution to the state for more than $27,000 in Permanent Fund dividends he obtained unlawfully. Mora-Lopez faces 15 years of confinement in total from federal and state charges in the case, and he is out on bail, confined to his home with electronic monitoring. Read more, here.
