Another strong earthquake has been measured off the eastern coast of Japan, registering a preliminary 7.4 magnitude. According to a bulletin from the Alaska and West Coast Tsunami Warning Center, Alaska and the western coast of North America are not in danger of a damaging tsunami from the quake that struck Thursday at 6:32 a.m. Alaska Daylight Time. Therefore, the National Weather Service has not issued a tsunami warning or a watch in any area of the coast from Alaska to California, and based on data, one is not expected.
