According to the Anchorage Daily News, Kikkan Randall and Sadie Bjornsen have made U.S. nordic skiing history by being the first team to win a medal in a cross-country relay race.
Bjornsen and Randall, teammates at Alaska Pacific University, won silver in women's team sprint relay at the World Cup tournament in Duesseldorf, Germany, on Sunday.
Before that day, the best relay finishes by Americans were two fourth-place finishes, one in 2009 and one in 2008.
The medal was the second in as many days for Randall, who the day before won gold in the individual sprint.
