Beauty Queen who saved – whoops, shaved – head wins Miss Alaska title

On Thursday, The Sacramento Bee published a heart-warming tale of beauty queen Debbe Ebben, who has received national attention for shaving her head for charity. Ebben was named Miss Alaska on Saturday. Perhaps less than endearing was the headline typo: "Beauty queen who saved head wins Miss Alaska title".

Ebben bravely shaved her head in March to raise more than $4,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which gives grants for children's cancer research. Ebben, 24, is from Eagle River. Her career ambition is to become a Child Life Specialist after completing studies in Human Development & Family Studies, according to the Miss Alaska website.

But the headline gaffe, changed just minutes after it was originally published, had already circulated the Internet by the time it was caught.
