Bill Stroecker, longtime FBX banker, hospitalized

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Bill Stroecker fell ill and is now in intensive care at Fairbanks Memorial Hospitial. Stroecker, 90, was born in the Golden Heart city in 1920, spent his life there, and for many, many years was a key figure at the First National Bank of Fairbanks, following in his family tradition. Stroecker has stayed active in the community his whole life, and in addition to his trumpet playing, he is known for his long memory of Fairbanks and the characters who have shaped it.
