'Bizarre Foods' host Andrew Zimmern spotted in Sitka (+video)

According to the Sitka Local Food Network, cable TV host Andrew Zimmern was perusing the Sitka Farmers Market last weekend trying out victuals, filming interviews and shooting footage for his Travel Channel show, "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern."

No word on whether he considered the beach asparagus and black cod tips or the kelp and pickles and salmon crepes truly "bizarre," but he did interview their creator, Sitka Local Food Network's president Kerry MacLane.

Zimmern will reportedly travel to the Southeast village of Kake next, where he will sample Tlingit delicacies, including stinkfish.

It's unknown when (or if) the footage will air, but if you're interested in catching the show regardless, "Bizarre Foods" airs on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. AST on the Travel Channel.

Zimmern has been to Alaska before. He filmed six episodes of "Bizarre Foods," featuring cuisine from Girdwood, Bethel and Soldotna, which aired last year. In case you missed it, check out the first installment below.
