Bristol Palin: Mom 'knows' if she'll run in 2012

Bristol Palin appeared on "Fox & Friends" Tuesday morning, and after some discussion about her new book and her current view on Levi Johnston, the father of her child, the eldest Palin daughter revealed that her mother "knows" whether or not she'll be running for president in 2012. Just what she "knows," however, remains a mystery.

The interview starts off with a question from Steve Doocy about Bristol's blunt assessment of Johnston in her new book, "Not Afraid of Life," in which she refers to Johnston as a "gnat" -- and accuses him of "stealing" her virginity.

"How much do you hate that guy?" Doocy asks Bristol.

"I don't think I can answer that on TV," Bristol replies, before describing Johnston as "...a young guy, and I don't think he has his head on straight."

The interview then goes on to discuss the failed McCain/Palin presidential ticket -- "I think some of (McCain's) staff threw my mom under the bus," Bristol says -- before moving on to more current events, including Bristol's mother's ongoing will-she-or-won't-she bid for the GOP nomination in 2012.

Bristol says she'd like to see her mother run for president (and the hosts of the show seem surprised at this, pointing out that her family would be "under the microscope" again -- apparently oblivious to the high public interest in every move the Palin clan makes), before being asked "do you get the sense that your mom has not made up her mind yet, or do you think she knows but just hasn't told us?"

"Y'know," Bristol replies, "she definitely knows, we've talked about it before, but some things just need to stay in the family."

Which offers confirmation of what many have already suspected, that Sarah Palin has indeed decided what she wants to do in 2012 despite her coy denials of assuredness -- and she's just not telling anyone else.
