Gov. Sean Parnell zeroed out funding for a natural gas line for Homer when he signed the state's $2.8 billion capital budget Wednesday. The decision was a disappointing one for Homer civic and political leaders, according to a story in the Homer Tribune. The paper says the $10 million project was a top priority for the area which is looking for help lowering energy costs. The 20-mile line also would have been an economic boost by creating jobs. Local officials were hoping to find out from the governor what he was thinking. Read the Tribune story here.
