Enough to flush: Water returns to frozen Bethel school

According to KYUK-FM (via APRN), Bethel Elementary School again has enough running water that students and staff won't have to trudge through the elements to an adjacent building in order to use the restroom.

The school's pipes froze almost a week ago, and mobile hand-washing stations were set up inside, but everyone still had to walk about 100 yards for more substantial lavatory needs.

For a long time, it was difficult to even find the problem. But maintenance crews eventually found the culprit: A broken, frozen section of pipe that was hidden away inside a utilidor, basically a vault that encloses utility lines.
