Fairbanks militia growing, says founder

According to KUAC-Radio (via APRN) Schaeffer Cox started The Second Amendment Task Force in the Fairbanks Denny's (which, to be certain, holds the honor of being "The Farthest North Denny's") last spring, and since then, the group has spawned a local militia and is fielding calls of support and inquiry from across the country. The Task Force has about 7,000 Fairbanks members, 3,500 of whom are also part of "The Alaska Peacemakers Militia." The militia's intention, Cox says, is to protect individual freedom in case of martial law or government collapse. As word of the group has spread, Cox said that his group has also gotten unwelcome interest from extremist groups that aren't interested in what he believes is the goal of a true militia. Listen to more here. It's not every day you hear someone say something like, 'It all started at Denny's in Fairbanks ... '.
