A 38-year-old former Anchorage resident, Tyrene Stallworth, was convicted and sentenced on Nov. 2 after pleading guilty to Permanent Fund Dividend fraud.
Stallworth plead guilty to falsifying information on her PFD application for herself and her four children between 2003 and 2009 after moving to Las Vegas, Nev., from Alaska. Over the six years, Stallworth and her dependents received a total of $44,515.60 in fraudulent Alaska PFD payouts.
Stallworth was sentenced by Anchorage Superior Court Judge Michael Wolverton to four months in jail, followed by five years probation. Wolverton additionally ordered Stallworth to pay back the full $44,515.60 and barred her from receiving dividend benefits in the future.
The Alaska Department of Revenue's Criminal Investigation Unit, tasked with PFD eligibility enforcement, caught Stallworth after an investigation.
