Fugitive man bites police dog in North Carolina

A man bit a police dog in North Carolina this weekend while trying to get away from the cops.

Police were after Keith Glaspie for allegedly shooting someone last week. When they caught up with him, Glaspie got into a scuffle with Maxx and decided to bite his ear off. Maxx had to have 15 stitches but bit Glaspie back.

"When [Glaspie] was biting the dog, it was something we haven't seen," Cpl. David Pellegrino told Wilmington's ABC affiliate. "Yes, our dogs do get assaulted, but no one has ever tried to cannibalize one of our animals before."

Glaspie was carted off to jail after being treated for a dog bite to the thigh, the Times-News reported.

He's been in quite a bit of trouble this month already. Police were initially after him for shooting at a couple who was sitting in their car. Glaspie struck the car door, and no one was injured, the Times-News said.

Glaspie is facing several charges including felony assault on a a law enforcement animal.
