'Game Change' sets HBO record

According to the trade magazine Variety, "Game Change," the HBO original movie based on a book about the 2008 presidential election by John Heilmann and Mark Halperin, has set a new audience record for the cable network.

An estimated 2.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the film debut on Saturday night, the most viewers for the debut showing of an original HBO movie since 2004's "Something the Lord Made."

And when three other weekend airings are included, the total audience reached 3.6 million.

There's also reportedly some Emmy buzz because so many stars are in the film. Ed Harris plays John McCain, Julianne Moore plays Sarah Palin, and Woody Harrelson plays McCain campaign director Steve Schmidt.
