Halibut heisted, lobsters lifted

According to the Los Angeles Times, thieves burgled two 30-pound California halibut and 20 spiny lobsters from an outdoor exhibit at a small aquarium in Redondo Beach. Authorities estimate the fish have a street value of roughly $1,000. Because there were no signs of forced entry, and a dead fish was found outside of one tank, authorities presume the burglars used bait or a net. There seems to be little hope that the fish will be returned; authorities found a pool of blood next to the halibut tank, "presumably from injuries the fish suffered." Read much more here.
