Hoonah murder suspect's bail: $1 mil.

According to KTOO-FM (via APRN), 45-year-old John Marvin Jr. of Hoonah, the man arrested after an armed standoff on charges of murdering two of the village's police officers, appeared at a bail hearing Tues. (8/31) in Juneau. As District Court Magistrate John Sivertsen explained Marvin's rights, the accused appeared disoriented, and his bail was set finally at $1 million. Meanwhile, Hoonah is still reeling from the shootings. Officers from other communities are filling in for the murdered officers, and mental health professionals and chaplains are there addressing residents' and first responders' coping needs.
