In a Vanderweele Farm warehouse off Outer Springer Loop near Palmer, Glacier Valley Farm CSA manager Arthur Keyes supervised a crew packing about 170 produce boxes for delivery this week.
The community supported agriculture program, started by Keyes and Alison Arians in 2008, provides customers in Anchorage and the Valley with Alaskan vegetables, as well as a selection of Outside produce. Participating farms include Vanderweele Farm, Bushes Bunches, Kenley's Alaskan Vegetables and Keyes' A&M Farm.
"It's made a huge impact on my farm," Keyes said. "My income isn't quite so seasonal any more. It's a lot more stable."
