The Internet greets Rep. Cissna with flowers in Juneau

On Wednesday, a thread appeared on the online message board, FlyerTalk, suggesting that supportive forum members buy flowers to greet Alaska Representative Sharon Cissna when she arrives at the ferry terminal in Juneau and giving a phone number for Juneau florist Miss Scarlet's Flowers. Rep. Cissna has become a celebrity among people who disapprove of the Transportation Security Administration's pat-down searches. Earlier this week, she refused to submit to such a search in Seattle, and wasn't allowed to fly. According to the FlyerTalk thread, she's set to arrive in Juneau Thursday morning (today), and several members have already bought bouquets. One poster said, "I hope Rep Cissna's chief of staff brings a large vehicle to Miss Scarlett's Thursday morning!" Read the message thread, here. Alaska Beat doesn't know what time Rep Cissna's ferry arrives, but Miss Scarlet opens at 8:30 a.m. AKST, so there still might be time to join in.
