Kikkan Randall wins final sprint before world championships

According to The Associated Press (via ESPN), on Sunday, Alaskan cross-country skier Kikkan Randall won her second-straight World Cup sprint event, Sunday at Drammen, Norway. Randall finished the 1.2-kilometer freestyle in 2 minutes 17.2 seconds, an extra-tight, 0.3-second victory over the second-place racer. The Drammen race was the final tune-up match before the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo, Norway, which begin Thursday. Randall leads the overall sprint standings, carrying eight points more than Arianna Follis of Italy. Read more, here.
