According to Washington Technology, Sen. Claire McCaskill, Democrat of Missouri, has introduced the legislation against Alaska Native corporations' special treatment, which she proposed along with Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., at the end of the last Congress. The new bill, S.B. 236, introduced on Jan. 31, would "eliminate the preferences and special rules for Alaska Native Corporations under the program under section 8(a) of the Small Business Act."
