'Meet the Palins:' Levi Johnston writing tell-all

Today it was reported that there will be one more "tell all" book about a woman who spent most of her life in the dot of a town in Southcentral Alaska, who was briefly Alaska's governor, and has for nearly two years shut herself in her Wasilla fortress like some tragic character out of storybook.

US Weekly is reporting that Levi Johnston's book, "Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs," will be out in the fall, published by Touchstone Publishing, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

"He's ready to give an inside glimpse to his relationship with the Palins, share his trials and tribulations of being thrust into the spotlight and becoming a father at such a young age," US Weekly reports.

Johnston, of course, is best known for his rocky relationship with Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin, with whom he had a child. Shortly after the break-up he was reportedly searching frantically for the thrust of that spotlight. He shopped a reality show, featuring -- who else? -- himself. When that didn't pan out, he took to the airways, threatening to reveal Palin-family secrets. He then posed nude for Playgirl, which didn't do much for the tough-guy hunter persona he had been shopping (perhaps nobody told him the Playgirl reader demographics?). He then got back with Bristol. The two beamed for the spotlight for exactly one day until he told her he might be the father of another child by another teenaged girl, etc, etc, etc -- which turned out not to be the case, but it could have been, etc, etc, etc. Bristol wept. And set out to write a book.

And then someone, perhaps a friend, was all like, "Hey, Levi, you should write a book."

And Levi was probably like, "Yeah, dude. A book. I can write a book. Like anyone can write a book."

America wept.
