As the Alaska Republican Party ushered in a new era Saturday, electing a Ron Paul supporter as its new chairman, 3,000 miles away President Obama was entertaining reporters and politicians with a Sarah Palin joke at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Even Sarah Palin is getting back into the game, guest hosting on "The Today Show," which reminds me of an old saying: What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?
A pit bull is delicious. (Laughter.) A little soy sauce. (More laughter.)
The White House Correspondents' Dinner is annual spring ritual in which the president and a comedian (this year it was Jimmy Kimmel) roast just about everybody in national politics. Even jokes at the president's expense are fair game.
Kimmel had this to say about Obama:
"Mr. President, remember when the country rallied around you in hopes of a better tomorrow? That was hilarious."
“There’s a term for President Obama. Not two terms.”
