Pamyua releases feel-good music video

Ever heard of the popular Alaska quartet Pamyua? If you haven't you may be in for a surprise. The group has a sound that's not only unique to the state, but the world.

Pamyua's lyrics are written almost entirely in the Yup'ik and Cup'ik languages and the group's compositions hinge on both traditional and original arraignments. The result is a tantalizing mix of tradition and trendsetting.

Intrigued? You're in luck, because on Oct. 16 the band released its newest project, an album titled "Side A/Side B." And in celebration of the new album, Pamyua has released a colorful new music video for the band's album single "Bubble Gum."

Pamyua is currently on tour in rural Alaska, playing shows in Bethel, Kotzebue, Dillingham and Nome. Click to listen to more of the group's work, and for more about Pamyua, check out the group's Facebook page.
