According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, representatives of the Alaska Gasline Port Authority voted unanimously Wednesday to approve a resolution calling for the cancellation of a borough ballot initiative that would direct the organization to pursue a plan to truck natural gas from the North Slope to the Fairbanks area. The resolution was passed on the heels of news this week that a private partnership between Golden Valley Electrical Association and Flint Hills Refinery would pursue a similar plan, and comes in anticipation of a special meeting of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly next week to discuss removing the proposition.
