Pribilof science camp inspires kids

According to the Dutch Harbor Fisherman, students in the Pribilof Islands School District are learning that marine science is really fun, and what's more, they already know more than they think. During this year's week-long camp, the students conducted 11 scientific studies, ranging from seal prey monitoring and seabird tracking, to trapping king crab larvae and driving a remote-controlled underwater vessel. After the camp last year, the school district saw such a change in their students that they asked Ridgway to return this year. Some students even wanted to visit an aquarium for their class trip instead of Disneyland. How awesome is that? Read more here.
