Renda, Healy head south after Nome fuel mission

The Russian tanker Renda, accompanied by a Coast Guard cutter, has started its journey south after a unqiue fuel run to the western Alaska town of Nome.

The Renda and the Coast Guard's Healy will now travel more than 360 miles through the frozen Bering Sea to the open ocean, according to the Coast Guard.

The Renda and the Healy arrived in Nome earlier this month after an 11-day journey, with the goal of delivering 1.4 million gallons of fuel.
