Should Alaska PFD requirements be amended for military service?

A state lawmaker wants to amend rules for the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend qualification in consideration of folks serving in the military.

House Rep. Eric Feige, R-Chickaloon, has sponsored legislation that if passed would exempt Armed Forces servicemen and women from some of the in-state residency criteria for the PFD.

Says Feige: "It is time to correct this injustice and allow Alaska residents who decide to join the military the opportunity to continue to receive their deserved Permanent Fund Dividend."
