Subway of Alaska offers $10,000 reward for sandwich shop robber

In a press release Friday, Subway of Alaska said it is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons who robbed two Subway restaurants in a one-month span. According the press release, the reward is being offered to any individual who can provide information about the man who entered a Subway on West Northern Lights Boulevard on Aug. 3, demanding money and pistol-whipping an employee before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash. On Sept. 3, a man wearing "ski gear" entered the Northway Drive Subway and robbed and beat an employee, the press release said. The release said that both employees were seriously injured in the attack, although Subway spokesperson Tim Woolston said after the first robbery that the employee in that attack was not seriously injured. The man in the first robbery was described as six feet tall and around 150 pounds and wearing a puffy Phat Farm jacket with red lettering. The man in the second robbery was wearing a cobalt blue jacket with gray stripes along the side and was described as "dark skinned and of average build." Subway recommends calling tips in anonymously to Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 907-561-7867 or at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
