UA president Gamble to donate pay raise to scholarships

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, University of Alaska president Pat Gamble said in a casual conversation with UA spokesperson Kate Ripley that he plans to donate the $25,000 raise that the Board of Regents recently approved for him to a variety of student scholarships. The pay bump has been controversial. It raised eyebrows in late September, and the Regents felt compelled to defend it. Read more, here.
