It was a short-lived retirement for Peter Bullock of Anchorage, the former University of Alaska Anchorage star center who also led East High School to a state championship. After saying goodbye to the Norwegian League after nine seasons as a professional, the 30-year-old is back with Froya Basket.

“I actually rejoined my old team before Christmas on more a part-time hobby basis,” Bullock told me. “I had to get some exercise after sitting at my desk all day.”

He hasn’t missed a beat. Bullock has averaged 13.1 points and 8.9 rebounds in seven games since his return, highlighted by a 17-point, 18-rebound effort in his fourth game back. Two days ago he delivered 17 points and eight boards in just 25 minutes. Froya Basket is 5-2 with Bullock in the lineup.

Bullock, a four-year player, is the leading scorer in UAA history with 1,902 points, more than 200 points ahead of Hansi Gnad, who's second on the list.  Bullock also is No. 4 on the school's all-time rebounding list and the No. 3 rebounder.
