Anchorage Museum now accepting submissions for 'Earth, Fire and Fiber'

The Anchorage Museum of History and Art is calling all Alaska artists who create using craft materials including fiber, wood and clay to submit work to the venue's biennial "Earth, Fire and Fibre" exhibition.

According to the Museum, the popular exhibition is accepting artist submissions along with a $25 entry fee from now until July 1. Artists may submit up to eight images of up to four pieces per entry.

The work chosen for the exhibit will be shown at the Anchorage Museum starting Oct. 6 and running through Jan. 5, 2014. After Anchorage, the exhibit will visit other places around the state.

The artist selected to win the Juror's Choice Award will receive a $1,000 prize. This year's juror is retired Executive Director of the American Craft Council Andrew Glasgow, reports The Associated Press.
