The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team capped a full day of flying and static displays at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Saturday, July 26, 2014. The Thunderbirds, in their F-16 Falcon jets, made passes in close formation to the delight of the thousands of people in attendance. Alaska's joint forces staged a demonstration with paratroopers jumping onto the field and holding a simulated fire fight. F-22 fighter pilots demonstrated the planes capabilities. Vintage war birds including P51 Mustangs flew the skies on a mostly sunny day. Air show pilots Skip Stewart, Oregon Aero SkyDancer, Bob Carlton and Melissa Pemberton performed in their stunt planes.
