If a funeral home in Alaska is involved, the obituary must be submitted to the funeral home to ensure it is authorized by those family members in charge of arrangements.

Please compose the obituary in your own word processing program and save it to your computer before filling out this form. Then, paste the text from your document into the appropriate fields of the form. You may also e-mail the text to obituary@adn.com and payment arrangements can be made over the phone.

The Daily News makes every effort to honor families' requests, but we occasionally run short of space. When that happens, we prioritize by date of service. Obituaries with services coming up in the next 1-3 days take priority over all others. Obituaries that are cut from the next day's paper are automatically re-scheduled for the day after.

Obituary submissions for Tuesday-Saturday editions must be received by 2 p.m. the previous day. Submissions for Sunday and Monday editions must be received by 5 p.m. Friday.
