Reporter Kyle Hopkins joined the Daily News in 2005, covering the Mat-Su and then state and local politics.
A graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, he's worked as a business reporter for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, as a crime reporter for the Vallejo (Calif.) Times Herald and as a staff writer at the Anchorage Press.
Kyle started blogging for the paper in 2006 with The Trail, our blog about the governor's race. Then came the Alaska Politics blog.
