Pancake pandemonium: Free short stacks at IHOP Tuesday
Skip the ice cream Monday night and earmark those empty carbs for short stack consumption at IHOPs across Southcentral Alaska, Tuesday.
The iconic breakfast restaurant brings back its popular "National Pancake Day" event Feb. 5 to raise money and awareness for Children's Miracle Network and other local charities.
This year, IHOP hopes to raise $3 million for charity from donations that are collected after diners binge on a free short stack of billowy buttermilk pancakes, drowned in your favorite sugary syrup.
There are only four IHOP restaurants in Alaska: three in Anchorage and one in Wasilla. Find your closest restaurant with this nifty map. Alaskans living beyond Southcentral will, as usual, have to make do with sourdough starter.
