A man wanted on charges of growing marijuana and possessing child pornography has been arrested in Las Vegas, according to the Alaska Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Las Vegas police caught up with Jeffrey Lee Graeber, 44, after he ran a railroad stop sign and fled pursuing officers on foot until they tackled him, Anchorage police detective Sgt. Ron Tidler said. The suspect was still driving the vehicle he had registered in Alaska, though he had changed the plates, he said.
Anchorage police discovered Graeber was trading child pornography online back in 2007, and a subsequent search of his home turned up several computers and hard drives, he said. It also turned up a marijuana-growing operation of 91 plants, he said.
Graeber was interviewed but fled the state before detectives completed a forensic examination of the computers and got an arrest warrant, Tidler said.
He has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography and misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was being held with bail set at $25,000.
