Investigators suspect arson was the cause of a fire that broke out in a Mountain View six-plex early Friday morning.
Residents were forced to evacuate the building and firefighters rescued several others following the fire at 3209 Peterkin Ave. The fire was reported about 4:30 a.m., the fire department said.
No one was injured, despite the fire blocking a stairwell and entry way, firefighters said.
Twelve units were able to subdue the fire, which started on the first floor.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
