Cheech and Chong will perform at the Alaska State Fair

Hippie-era comedy duo Cheech and Chong will perform at the Alaska State Fair on Aug. 29.

Grammy Award-winning Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will be joined by comedian Shelby Chong, Tommy's wife, who has appeared in several of the movies starring the team.

This isn't the duo's first trip north. They performed at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage in 2014.

The State Fair also announced that Kongos, a band of four South African brothers based in Arizona who perform a variety of musical styles but are best known as rockers, will perform Aug. 28. They'll be joined by the Canadian rock group July Talk.

The acts are the last to be announced in the lineup of the AT&T Concert Series during the fair. They join previously announced performers including Pat Benatar, Randy Houser and X Ambassadors.

Tickets will go on sale at 6 a.m. June 3 at alaskastatefair.org.
