Train ride: the aurora package
Watch the northern lights dance in the sky during this three day trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
According to the Alaska Railroad website, this is what the trip schedule looks like:
"Friday: Spend the first night in Anchorage and make time to visit the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, the Alaska Aviation Museum, or check out a hockey game at the Sullivan Arena or a concert at the Performing Arts Center.
Saturday: Board the Aurora Winter Train for Fairbanks. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Sunday: Take off on a flight to discover winter in Alaska’s Arctic, and participate in a ceremonial Arctic Circle landing at the wilderness community of Cold Foot. At the day’s end you’ll return for another memorable night in Fairbanks.
Monday: Fly to Anchorage on Era Alaska. You may opt to spend an extra day exploring Fairbanks and visiting the Museum of the North at University of Alaska Fairbanks or take a side trip to Chena Hot Springs Resort for a tour of the world famous Aurora Ice Museum."
