Mat-Su Farm Bureau "2014 Farm Tour"
Learn about the latest technology and growing techniques in Alaskan farming, including weather, soil, regulation and best strategies to grow the biggest and best in the state.
Thursday July 24th is the all-day Mat-Su farm tour that includes morning coffee and pastries, and an All-Alaskan lunch.
The tour starts (in Anchorage) at CARRS Grocery Store on Muldoon and Northern Lights at 8 AM and the bus takes participants to the Division of Agriculture parking lot in Palmer. Registration is at 9 AM at the Division of Agriculture and busses depart at 9:15 AM for the tour.
Kids under 10 years old are not recommending, nor are individuals who have trouble standing and walking for periods of time.
The cost is $70 per person and all proceeds go to the non-profit Mat-Su Farm Bureau.

Vanderweele Farm (Largest farm in Mat-Su)
Havemeister Dairy (Last remaining dairy in Mat-Su)
Little Pitchfork Ranch (Added draw here is the bison and elk in upper fields; lunch served here)
Stockwell Farm (2013 Farm Family of the Year)
Pioneer Peak U-Pick (Oldest and largest U-Pick in state)
Bushes Bunches Stand (Final stop; participants can purchase fresh vegetables just in from the fields)
