Aug. 31, 2006: Teams of federal agents execute search warrants on the offices of six state legislators: Senate President Ben Stevens, Sen. John Cowdery, Sen. Donny Olson and Reps. Pete Kott, Vic Kohring and Bruce Weyhrauch. The offices of Veco Corp. are also searched.

Sept. 1, 2006: One search warrant is made public and makes it clear that agents are looking into financial ties between Veco and legislators, and that they are seeking evidence of all kinds, even hats or other garments mockingly labeled “Corrupt Bastards Club,” “Corrupt Bastards Caucus,” or just “CBC.”

Dec. 6, 2006: Rep. Tom Anderson indicted on charges of money laundering, extortion and bribery.

May 2007: Kott, Weyhrauch and Kohring indicted for conspiracy to commit extortion and bribery. Kott also indicted for wire fraud and Weyhrauch for mail fraud.

May 7, 2007: Veco executives Bill Allen and Rick Smith plead guilty to bribing Alaska lawmakers.

May 16, 2007: Lobbyist Bill Bobrick pleads guilty to conspiracy for bribing Anderson. He’s later sentenced to five months in jail.

July 9, 2007: Anderson convicted of conspiracy, bribery and other charges. He’s later sentenced to five years in prison.

Sept. 25, 2007: Kott convicted of bribery, conspiracy and extortion. He’s later sentenced to six years in prison.

Nov. 1, 2007: Kohring convicted of bribery, conspiracy and attempted extortion. He’s later sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison.

March 3, 2008: Jim Clark, Gov. Frank Murkowski’s chief of staff, pleads guilty to conspiracy.

July 10, 2008: Cowdery charged with bribery and conspiracy.
