• Friday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. The 7th Annual Wild Salmon on Parade dinner and auction event to benefit the Alaska Botanical Garden. Reel one of the wildly creative and wacky salmon sculptures home with you and plant it in your garden! At the Sheraton Anchorage. Tickets $75 each or a table of ten for $750.

• Friday at 7 p.m. Themed garden tours at Tryck Gardens led by Doug Tryck. Please call 345-2507 for reservations, weekly theme, and instructions on how to get there. Donations of food items for the Food Bank are gladly accepted.

• Friday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free. The Anchorage Home & Garden Show at the Sullivan Arena. Look for master gardeners to answer questions at the Cooperative Extension Service booth. The Alaska Orchid Society will have a booth with plants, pots and potting mix for sale and an orchid show with members’ plants judged and the best awarded ribbons. • Sunday at 2 p.m. Naturalist Ute Olsson leads an approximately 2-3- mile walk to identify fall wildflowers and berries. At the Eagle River Nature Center. Free program. $5 parking for non-members.
