Pancake memories

As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, IHOP is collecting stories from customers who have a special memory of an IHOP visit. The winner of the "It Happens at IHOP" contest will receive free pancakes for life. See rules at www.ihop.com. Follow these IHOP tips for perfect pancakes at home:

• Chill water to less than 50 degrees before adding to the dry ingredients.

• Don't overmix the batter. Lumps are good.

• Ensure the grill has an even temperature of 350 degrees.

• Look for bubbles to form in the batter. Approximate cooking time is 2 1/2 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
