Alex Davis said he has good supplies of cabbage, broccoli and lettuce. Good enough, in fact, that he has enough for market shoppers as well as restaurants.

Other crops he'll have at Northway Mall today and at South Anchorage Farmers Market on Saturday include fava beans, three kinds of chile peppers, cauliflower, kohlrabi, vine-ripened tomatoes, four kinds of beets, bunched greens, spinach and rhubarb.

Cranberry Ridge Farm cheese will also be available in 8-ounce packages for $15 plus goat cheese and several kinds of jellies.

Davis has a list going for people who want to order a pig or a duck for future butchering.

The Rempel family will join Davis at the above markets with carrots, beets in 20-pound bags, four kinds of potatoes, daikon radishes, romaine lettuce, sugar snap peas, green beans, and a lot of other good vegetables that like it cool.

Also open today is the South Anchorage Wednesday market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the Dimond Center Hotel.

Kenley's Alaskan Vegetables & Flowers will have celery, carrots, savoy cabbages, red and white slicing onions, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, turnips and a limited supply of jalapenos.
