Julie and Mark Korting

Julie and Mark Korting live in Anchorage on Campbell Lake. Their marriage was at Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas, Nev. They will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a small dinner at their favorite local restaurant, which will remain unnamed. They had an early celebration in November while on a mini-holiday trip in Puerto Pinasco (Rocky Point), Mexico.

Normally Julie and Mark are traveling to a convention or a conference somewhere on their anniversary so they have celebrated all over the country and in different parts of the world. Mark is also quite involved in local charities or business groups and offers his "skill" of auctioneering in fundraising events. It is always a treat for them to not have other obligations on their anniversary so they can just enjoy some time on their own for a nice evening out with dinner and conversation.

Julie and Mark met in Anchorage, and at the time Julie was in the title insurance business and Mark was a real estate broker. Julie turned out to be a good "closer!" Julie and Mark have had many occasions to return to Las Vegas for business, and they always stop by Little Chapel of the Flowers and have their picture taken outside as a memento and reminder of the event.

Julie spent her career forming and operating Pacific Rim Title, which later merged into Stewart Title of Alaska; she sold her interest a couple of years ago.

Julie is spending her time gardening and landscaping and traveling. Mark is still a real estate broker and owns and operates RE/MAX Properties and RE/MAX of Alaska. He and Julie travel quite a bit for business and pleasure and have seen most of the United States, some of Europe and the Mediterranean and Australia.

They still live on Campbell Lake, and their weekends are spent "at the lake" or camping, boating and fishing in Alaska; in the winter, they cross-country ski.

The Kortings are involved with Rotary, Providence Alaska Medical Center, and the University of Alaska Anchorage, to name a few.

They have two sons, both of whom live and work Outside. Mike is in Los Angeles, and Matt is in Denver with his wife and two sons.

Emile and Jonathan Ellcey

Emile Elizabeth Greeson and Jonathan Paul Ellcey were married Aug. 30, 2008, at Glacier View Bible Church, located at Mile 99 on the Glenn Highway.

Since Emile and Johnny both have only brothers, five of the six groomsmen were taken care of! Emile's bridesmaids included sisters-in-law and friends from both childhood and college days.

Guests came from as far away as the Netherlands, and accommodations were provided by Victory Bible Camp. Weekend festivities included glacier treks, horseback riding, boating and mountain trail hikes. Because of the groom's Texas background, the western barbecue rehearsal dinner took place on the grounds of Victory's Ranch Camp.

The event was officiated by Jasper Hall, a close family friend. The camp cafeteria was transformed into an elegant dining room with the help of students and staff from Alaska Bible College.

The couple spent the week after the wedding driving to their new home in Mesquite, Texas. They will take an overseas honeymoon in 2009, cruising the western Mediterranean.

Emile is the daughter of Joseph and Holly Greeson of Glennallen. She graduated from Glennallen High School in 2002 and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Biola University in La Mirada, Calif. Emile worked at Cross Road Medical Center in Glennallen until the wedding and is presently an emergency room nurse with Baylor Medical Center in the Dallas area.

Johnny is the son of Chuck and Karen Ellcey of Dallas. He graduated from West Mesquite High School in 2001 and earned a bachelor's degree from Alaska Bible College in Glennallen. Johnny worked as an intensive instructional aide at Glennallen Elementary School, a buildings and groundskeeper at Copper Valley Electrical Association, and a volunteer EMT on the ambulance crew in Glennallen. He is presently employed with United Parcel Service in Dallas and will begin paramedic training in December.

The Combses were married Oct. 27, 1958, at Holy Family Cathedral in Anchorage. Millie Spezialy was maid of honor, and the late Dave Carpenter was best man. The Combses have lived in Anchorage for all of their married years. They have four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joyce and Darryl Matthews, Rebecca and Nathan Turner, Sheila and Jack Lloyd, and Sheryl Combs.

Beatrice was a stay-at-home mom. Robert was self-employed as a carpenter and also worked and retired from ARCO, Alaska Inc. They enjoy their 10 grandchildren, Rachael, Kyle, Levi, Josiah, Megan, Hannah and Caitlyn, all of Anchorage, and Robert, William and Maya, all of Boston.

The reception followed at Tanglewood Lakes and golf course.

The next day, friends and family enjoyed a white croquet brunch party with the newlyweds. The couple honeymooned on a cruise to the Mediterranean Islands and traveled around Europe for seven weeks.

Olivia is the daughter of Mae Webber of Arizona. Jed is the son of Patricia Sims and Steve Sims of Anchorage. Our most memorable moment of the ceremony was when we looked into each other's eyes as we exchanged our vows; we knew it was perfect and blessed by God. It's wonderful to know it's right and forever, and it was great to share that in front of our family and friends.

Dinner, dancing and fun followed at O'Malley's on the Green for the reception. The couple enjoyed socializing and dancing with family and friends, but the highlight of the evening was dancing as husband and wife to their song "Amazed" by Lonestar.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii and enjoyed snorkeling, parasailing, hiking, watching sea turtles, becoming hula certified and taking in the romantic sunsets.

They both look forward to starting a family soon.
