French dinner party: Make French onion soup, spinach souffle, beef wellington and white chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday; $99.

Glacier Brewhouse chef John Lee will demonstrate how to make seared scallops over polenta with champagne apple beurre blanc 10 a.m. Saturday at Spenard Builders Supply, 4412 Lois Drive. Dinner made simple
The Alaska Dinner Factory, a "meal preparation kitchen," will plan, shop, chop and clean up. All you do is assemble, take home and eat or freeze the meals. The December menu includes Swedish meatballs, shrimp scampi, chicken cordon blue, lasagna, orange beef stir fry, beef bourguignon, chicken or beef wellington and chipotle maple pork tenderloin.
