Dec. 1-18: Dimond Greenhouses on West Dimond Boulevard conducts wreath-making and centerpiece-making workshops. $25 and $15, all materials provided. Call for schedule. (349-2552)

Dec. 7: What's that bird?? Volunteer Liza Sanden will teach you how to correctly identify Alaska's winter birds in preparation for our local Christmas Bird Counts, 2 p.m., Eagle River Nature Center.
