John Carlin was convicted in 2007 of conspiring with Mechele Linehan, a former Anchorage stripper turned soccer mom, in the 1996 shooting death of Linehan's fiance, Kent Leppink.
On May 3, 1996, Alaska State Troopers interviewed Mechele Linehan for the first time after Kent Leppink's murder. Troopers don't tell Linehan that her friend has been killed until 20 minutes into the interview. In the audio recording, Linehan tells Troopers about her relationship with the victim. Only a couple minutes of this tape was played for the jury in Linehan's first trial.
