A search is on for a fisherman overboard in the Bering Sea.
The Coast Guard and Good Samaritan ships are helping the crew of the 140-foot commercial fishing boat, the Rebecca Irene, look for its crew member who did not show up for watch duty and was later determined to be missing from the ship.
The man was not immediately identified.
The last time he was seen he was wearing pajamas at 4 a.m., the Coast Guard said.
The ship called for help at about 8:30 a.m.
The search is taking place 25 miles southeast of Umnak Island. The Coast Guard has sent a C-130 fixed-wing airplane, with two helicopters, one which is still making its way to the scene.
Poor visibility is inhabiting the search, the Coast Guard said. Winds are at about 25 mph and the seas about 8 to 10 feet.
The sea temperature is 43 degrees. Searchers do not know if the missing man was wearing any sort of survival suit.
The Rebecca Irene is a trawler home ported in Seattle.
