Tom Bennett has been named curator for the Alaska Heritage Museum at Wells Fargo and Jennifer McCarty has been named assistant curator. Bennett has more than 20 years of experience as a museum curator, adviser and exhibit designer. He joined Wells Fargo as Alaska Heritage Museum assistant curator in March 2008. He volunteers for the community as an arts and humanities guest lecturer and board member for the Alaska Museum of Natural History. McCarty joins Wells Fargo with nine years of experience in the arts and humanities. She has worked for the Kodiak Maritime Museum, Smithsonian Institution Arctic Studies Center, Alaska Native Heritage Center and as an independent contractor for Bristol Bay Native Association and the National Park Service.

Gov. Sean Parnell recently appointed Linda Leary of Eagle River and Jon Cook of Fairbanks to the Alaska Railroad Corp. board of directors. Leary is president and co-owner of Carlile Transportation Systems, a trucking and logistics company. Cook is chief financial officer of Airport Equipment Rentals Inc.

Eva Loken, of Prudential Jack White Vista Eagle River, was accepted as a member of the Top 5 in Real Estate Network, an organization that helps consumers identify the most professional real estate agents in North America. To qualify, each member must first meet a stringent set of criteria, based upon performance, as well as educational and professional skills and service to the consumer. Members of the network are carefully selected and managed by RISMedia, which has provided the real estate industry with news for nearly 30 years.

Lisa Ebner, a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, was recently installed as the 14th postmaster of Anchorage. Ebner is the first female postmaster of Anchorage. Ebner is a native of Wisconsin and began her postal career there in 1984 as a city letter carrier. Prior to moving to Alaska, she was manager of post office operations for the Northland District based in Minneapolis, Minn., for the last five years, responsible for 120 post offices in southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin. She has been the acting postmaster of Anchorage since March 2009, replacing previous postmaster Dwight Stampflee, who retired.

NANA's Lands & Natural Resources department has restructured by reorganizing into two separate departments to better serve NANA shareholders. Longtime NANA employee Walter Sampson now serves as vice president of NANA's new department of Lands & Regional Affairs, and geoscientist, Lance Miller, Ph.D, serves as vice president of the new Resources department. Sampson, who has been with NANA for more than 35 years, is tasked with representing NANA's interest and shareholders in regional, statewide and national forums. Miller oversees resource development as the vice president of Resources. Miller has more than three decades of experience working in natural resources, primarily in Asia and North America. He comes to the regional corporation from NANA subsidiary, WHPacific, Inc.
