• USKH Inc. has announced that two employees were selected as associates of the company: Jake Gerondale, P.L.S., and Janet Benson. Gerondale is the Anchorage survey manager and has been with USKH for three years. Benson is the executive assistant to USKH's president and vice president, and has been with the company for more than five years, She works from the Anchorage office.

Olgoonik Development named Ron W. Jones as vice president and chief financial officer. Jones has more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience and was previously providing business consulting services through Ron Jones Enterprises. Jones is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional. In this position, Jones plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting, financial management and treasury functions of Olgoonik Development and its nine subsidiaries.

• The law firm of Sedor, Wendlandt, Evans & Filippi, LLC announced Carolyn Heyman-Layne as a new member of the firm. Heyman-Layne practices in the areas of health, corporate and real estate law, and she was recently named to the 2010 Alaska Top 40 Under 40. She received her law degree from Duke University and her undergraduate degree from Smith College.

Doyon Foundation recently welcomed two new members to its board of directors. Julie Anderson and Shane Derendoff were elected to the board at the foundation's annual meeting last month. Anderson, originally from Fairbanks, holds a bachelor's of business administration in international management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a master's of business administration from the American Graduate School of International Management. She is currently the engineering business manager at Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. in Anchorage. Derendoff, a Koyukon Athabascan originally from Huslia, is a returning foundation board member, having previously served from 2002-2006. He holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from UAF, and he currently works as an information technology specialist with Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. in Fairbanks. Both of their terms run until 2012. The board includes Wesley Roberts Dalton, Lorraine David and Victor Nicholas. At a recent meeting, Derendoff was elected board president, Dalton was elected vice president, and David was elected secretary/treasurer.
